ABOUT US

Local Service. Personal Attention.

American Arms began in 2016 when retired gun enthusiast Terry Leighton started the business in Blue Grass, Iowa. Terry grew the business until his retirement in 2022, when ownership was transferred to become American Arms Unlimited it continued to grow.

The business expanded to include custom laser engraving, giving customers the opportunity to turn their ideas into personalized pieces. American Arms Unlimited also strengthened its connection to the community by supporting local nonprofit organizations through donated items, services, and financial contributions.

In May 2024, Josh Wendell became the owner of American Arms Unlimited, continuing the business and its commitment to quality craftsmanship, personalized service, and supporting the local community.

MEET THE OWNER

Josh Wendell

My passion for firearms started nearly a decade ago after a trip to the range with my dad. I was hooked and wanted to learn everything I could. That interest eventually led me to pursue and earn a degree in Firearms Technology, with the goal of one day owning my own business.

When the opportunity came to continue that dream through American Arms Unlimited, it was something I could not pass up.

My goal is to continue the vision the previous owners built while providing quality service to our customers and expanding what American Arms Unlimited can offer. One of those additions is gunsmithing, allowing us to provide maintenance, repairs, and performance-focused firearm services.
